Results of the tests that deserve further investigation
There are a lot of possibile future applications and studies to be performed, such as:
- Fusion of IASI-EPS-O3 and IASI-FORLI-O3
- Since the EUMETSTAT products have limited time coverage, consider also IASI-AERIS products and evaluate the differences with the correspondent EUMETSAT products, when available.
- IASI-FORLI-EUMETSAT: add the study of Sn eigenvalues to discuss the results of CDF(2015) auto-consistency test.
- For IASI-CO-METOP C the product has been enriched and allows additional tests (https://acsaf.org/docs/pum/Product_User_Manual_IASI-C_CO_Nov_2021.pdf) For example also the total column AK is available and this could be used to study the comparison of CDF applied in profile space and total column space.
- Consider also OMPS-NOAA-O3 datasets available here

Other Eligible Data Sets
Below is a list of other datasets to consider, grouped by satellite. The list was created by looking for level 2 atmospheric profiles retrieved using optimal estimation techniques in the following data portals:
Both operating and non-operating instruments/satellites have been considered.
Aqua-Aura (https://aura.gsfc.nasa.gov/ https://aqua.nasa.gov/)
1.The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) on the NASA Aqua satellite.
2.The Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on NASA’s Aura satellite.
3.The Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) on NASA’s Aura satellite.
4.The High-Resolution Dynamics Limb Sounder (HIRDLS) on NASA’s Aura satellite.
5.The Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) on NASA’s Aura satellite.
MetOp (https://www.eumetsat.int/our-satellites/metop-series)
6.The Temperature Humidity Infrared Radiometer (THIR) on the Meteorological Operational (MetOp) satellites.
7.The Microwave Temperature Profiler (MTP) on the Meteorological Operational (MetOp) satellites.
8.The Microwave Humidity Sounder (MHS) on MetOp-A and MetOp-B polar orbiting satellite series.
